Randomness

I had a most excellent run tonight, even though I got rained on. For the first time since I've started back running outside, I went for a straight 20 minutes, and got in two miles. I've been taking walk breaks to meet up with Sean. And it felt good! I needed a good run today. For the last several days, I've had a weird pain in my thigh. It was getting to the point that yesterday, Sean and I walked a mile and I ended it limping. Today though, it didn't bother me at all! And it was great! I felt like I could have kept going.

It's so nice to get back into my normal routine. I feel so much better when I get out and go for a nice run. Especially now that I'm outside. It's so nice to get out there and not think about anything. To be able to leave it all on the trail.

I've also been working on my photo editing. My screen is a bit dark, so I have trouble telling if I'm taking things too far in regards to brightening them. But here's an example. This is Sean's cousin Greyson. He was playing around with a Mr. Potato Head Santa beard. The first is the original, and the second is the edited version.
I've also started baking bread. Mom gave me some sour dough starter, and it's been turning out pretty well. Sean eats it with just about anything; tonight he used it for hamburgers. There's just something about the smell of homemade bread in the house. It can't be beat!

Guess whose getting a new cousin?

That would be me! Dee's pregnant...more details to come when we find out more. :)

I gotta start knitting!

Back in the swing of things

I'm getting back to running. After blowing off about 2.5 weeks or so, I'm back at it. And I'm doing it outside. Now that the weather is getting pretty, I'm refusing to step foot on the treadmill. I hate that thing.

Sean and I have gotten out and explored some, and found a 2 mile trail that connects two parks in town. It's paved, but it goes through the woods. Absolutely wonderful. I'm building my way up to the mileage I'm at on the treadmill, since it's so different being outside. But there's something peaceful about running next to a creek and being among the trees, just counting for breaths, and not thinking about a thing. I love the feeling of having an absolutely clear mind.

I've also started doing my yoga dvd. I love the fact that I can feel my muscles getting worked. I especially love that it focuses on the core and hips, since my right hip gets sore so easily. And I can feel it in my butt. I like to imagine that it will make it a little bigger. Probably not, but a girl can dream, right?

Anyway, I feel better about myself now that I'm out doing something again, and not just sitting around. It's good to find myself getting back my self-esteem. I'm not sure where it went for awhile, but it's out of hiding now. Thank goodness!

Just thoughts

You know, I think it's crazy how life can be. I'm a college grad, two majors, a minor in another language, and I can't even get confirmation that my job applications have been received. I just want to know that they get them. It would also be nice to get an interview or something. Sean, on the other hand, has an interview tomorrow. Lucky him.

It kills me being at home all day by myself. The last few days I've been knitting, so that helps, but otherwise, it's lonely. I went to Western the other night to visit and loved just being able to sit and listen to people talk. I need social contact outside of Sean. I love him, but I need other people too.

I'm about to finish up a baby sweater. It's yellow, and I think it's going to look really cute. It's for Zack and Jenifer. I'm so happy that they're having a baby next month! I just wish I could be around more to see them.

I haven't run in days. I really need to work on focusing on my exercise. I feel better when I do it; I just don't seem to have the motivation. We have found a park though, so I plan to work on that some too. And earlier I got outside and did a little less than a half mile before I realized that it was dumb to not eat anything before running. So now I'm waiting on my food to digest and then I'll head back out.

And I got a yoga dvd. It was recommended to me by a sweet lady named Mo, and I think I'm going to wrap up this post and try it out. As soon as I go put our sheets in the dryer. The house stopped shaking, so that means the washing machine is done!

Layout issues

Nevermind...I got it halfway fixed. At least I have a layout now.

A new picture

So, of course I've been playing around with my wedding pictures. Since I still don't have a job, what else do I have to do during the day? And anyway, I love doing it. So, here's the two I've done so far.

Oh, and a new blog design is coming soon. I just have to decide what I want it to look like!

A Wedding Story

February 28, 2009 started out kind of dreary. Regardless, I was up at 7:20 and out the door at 7:45 to meet Jenny for a run. A mile in the rain was all we had in us, and then we headed to the church for breakfast. Sausage and gravy biscuits for $1? Heck yeah!

After I dropped her back off at the hotel and snuck out the side door since Sean was in the lobby (dad called me to warn me!), I headed home and took a quick shower and to get ready. I then finished packing for the honeymoon and got the car loaded up. In the rain. With no help. Even though there were several people just sitting and watching me. But whatever. I met mom at the church and convinced her to go eat lunch with me and the Smith's. Yum hamburgers and hush puppies! There's nothing better.

As soon as I finished lunch, I went and got my hair done. Nothing crazy with that; just sitting for an hour while all of my hair got curled. And curled. And curled. And then I went to the church to finish getting ready!

I killed some time for a little while, watching the little girls get their hair fixed, and hung out with the girls for a few minutes. Then I got dressed. We all kept joking around. I love my bridesmaids. They really are some of my best friends! The photographer came and snapped some pictures, and then we started lining up. Holy cow! This is it!!

It's really hard to keep 7 men, 3 women, 4 kids, and me and my dad quiet in an enclosed area. Just in case you wondered. Everyone made it down the aisle, and I heard the music change! Everyone stood, and my dad and I started walking. All I wanted was to see was Sean, and I couldn't. And then, we reached the front. There are seriously no words to explain how it felt to lock eyes with my best friend, my life.

The ceremony flew by. I held it together through my vows, much to my surprise. I struggled, but I did it. The hard part was when I noticed that the preacher seemed to be tearing up. He is, after all, like my second father. The only snafu was me forgetting to get my flowers back, and Sean stepping on my dress as we walked out together. Oops. But that didn't matter! We were married!!!

After getting all the pictures done, we headed across the street for our reception. My dad gave a sweet speech that I cried through, and then Sean's dad spoke. After that, it was a whirlwind of cake cutting, some pictures, and trying to speak to as many people as possible. And then they had us walk to our car, even though we weren't actually leaving yet. My brother and his best friend headed up the car decorating; not only was it stuffed full of toilet paper, saran-wrapped, and tagged, but they stuck a MANNEQUIN in it! I was informed that her name was Gertrude and that she was our escort. The joke was on John though; a major winter storm was called for, so we took Sean's mom's 4-wheel drive. My lovely brother got to drive home alone with Gertrude.

And then we left and went on our honeymoon...but that's another story for another time!
